Whether you are a new or old student, this handbook holds the rules and guidelines; failure to follow the rules can result in immediate action. Of course, the handbook also holds the rules of Heathington Academy itself, but who follows the school rules these days?
Before you can begin to roleplay and develop your character around Heathington, you need to create your character. Here, you can find the character application and face claim.
Before attending Heathington, you need to make sure that you have a dorm and classes. You can also find out about open job positions, here. Please make sure your character application has been accepted before posting here.
Often, the "starving artists" at Heathington (basically every single student attending) enjoy scribbling in their student notebooks, as well as others'. Feel free to sign anyone's notebook, or even put one out for anyone to sign.
Want to listen to what the cool kids at Heathington are listening to? Come here to look! If you want to request something to be played, there is also a request line for it. * If you want to listen to this music while you post, keep this open in another window or tab!
Dish the dirt at scandalous.la, where you can find out all the latest gossip going around Heathington. Scarlett Scandal only cares about those who are worthy of her time. Are you worth talking about?
Some people here at Heathington tend to live for gossip…we all know that. So Scarlett Scandal has set up a place for her sources to dish the dirt. Come here and spill what you know -- or learn of what you don't.
Most of the students at Heathington Academy spend much of their school day here. While some use their time in the courtyard eating lunch or messing about with their mates, others just use it to relax between classes. To the north of the center of the courtyard is the Norton Dining Hall, while the Elizabeth Theatre lays to the west. A seldom sidewalk leads anyone walking east to the Hepburn and Leonard buildings, while the Sturgess Building and Barton Center are towards the south. Needless to say, the Courtyard is not only the center of all Heathington activities, but also Heathington itself.
The Sturgess Building, the oldest building on campus, was designed by the first graduating class of Heathington Academy. On each and every wall is a different painting that tells a story of a lifetime. Its outside is pure and beautiful stone, windows of stained glass. At first glance, the Sturgess Building does not appear to be a building for every day classes, but a beautiful castle. Romeo, o Romeo, where art thou Romeo?
Even though the Norton Dining Hall is only open from five A.M. to nine P.M., many of the students enjoy "sneaking in" for a delightful midnight snack. The Norton Dining Hall is really one of the lesser highlighted places of Heathington Academy, mostly because the Dean is anorexic and hates eating. Other than that, when students don't feel like going out, they think that the Norton Dining Hall is ever so convenient.
When classes aren't in session, the Elizabeth Theatre is the perfect place to go if you're in need of somewhere quiet and calm. The Elizabeth Theatre was named after one of Mario Jenkins's past lovers, a lady named Elizabeth Marie Faire, now deceased. Even though she preferred everyone to refer to her as "Wizz", Mario couldn't help but think that "Elizabeth" fit such a beautiful person like her. To this day, he still refers to her as Elizabeth.
Named after a famous American beat poet and novelist, Jack Kerouac was one of the most inspirational people of his time period... this is exactly why Mario Jenkins chose to name his library after him, he who was most inspirational to Jenkins. Now, the students at Heathington reside her to study, or use the internet... or various other reasons, you never know.
Mario Jenkins did not want his student artists to gain weight, so he had the Barton Center built to serve as the academy's recreation center. Revealing rock-climbing wall, a weightlifting room, an indoor swimming pool, an arcade, and a track and field, the Barton Center is usually busy and open throughout all hours of the day.
Mara Hepburn was the artistic role model of the 1970's in Hertfordshire. Often she enjoyed finger painting, or even painting with her feet. Even at 60, she still maintains her free spirit, which is exactly why Mario Jenkins chose to name the girls' dormitory building after her.
Mario Jenkins named the Leonard Building after his childhood best friend, Carlos Leonard. After they both graduated from sixth form, they parted their ways and never spoke again. The only thing Jenkins remembers about Carlos was he ate a lot of cake -- well, not only that. Jenkins will never be able to forget the cool frosting designs that Carlos had made, growing up with an aspiration to be a baker. Mario named this building after Carlos because he thought that all males deserved to be reminded of cake daily.
Couture Cafe is a cute, quaint little cafe simply ten minutes away from Heathington Academy while walking, and about three to five using a car or bus. Many of the students enjoy stopping by in the morning for a delicious, hot mug of coffee or tea to start off their day. Sometimes, on weekends, there will be small acoustic shows for the public to view.
When in need of something new, many of the elites first turn to the Hertfordshire Plaza. Even when they want to do their hair, the Plaza is where its at. Whether you want to go bowling, or go on a journey inside a new book, Hertfordshire Plaza is bound to have something to suit your needs. Coming Soon Alyssa Rae Tessier's Art Supplies, Dharma Photography.
Pluma's Diner is usually seen as "trailer trash" by the elites, when really all it is is a casual diner with an elegant and unique 50's feel to it. If you're ever in the mood for a milkshake or some unique fast food, Pluma's Diner is the number one recommended place. Awards Best Milkshake 2006, 2007
On one of their completely random and wild nights, Aimée Aldred and Abigail Rhodes discovered the abandoned warehouse. Since they've revamped it, they have usually used it to throw some of the wildest parties of the year. Of course, if you'd like to throw a party of your own here, you'd have to as for permission. [please private message either Abigail or Aimée for permission]
Even the Candeo Cinemas are crowded on school nights. Whether you want to see a movie for snogging purposes, or to just have and spend a god time with your mates, the Candeo Cinemas are a fun place to retreat any night or day. Now Playing: Across the Universe, Good Luck Chuck, Resident Evil: Extinction, Sydney White.
Jenkins Memorial Park was built in honor of the memorable Mario Jenkins, who is now unfortunately deceased. The two mile-long pathway leads to several different areas such as the children's playground, the lake, and the local skatepark.
Known for their amazing sushi and exquisite Japanese entrees, Kiyoto also serves the classic British favorite: fish and chips for those who are not so fond of raw fish. Its a favorite amongst vegetarians (not the fish, but Kiyoto's itself). One of the most popular vegetarian dishes has to be tofu with yakisoba.
It's probably advisable that you enter Lovers' Lane with at least one date. Otherwise, you'd probably be pretty disgusted at all the sickly sweet and cute loving going on. PDA, gross.
Euphoria: the place to be. It's somewhere where you can get high without having to even worry about drugs. As Hertfordshire's most lively night club, Euphoria is only open to those sixteen and over. Who knows, though . . . you might have "the look" and will be able to get in. Not everyone can get in, though... be sure to watch out for the bouncer.
Known for its fine, unique Italian taste, la Bella Villagio d' Cicily - owned by Jonathan Bailey - is a five-star Italian restaurant highly recommended around Hertfordshire. Next to Kiyoto's, la Bella Villagio d' Cicily is one of the most finest places in London to dine at. Awards Five-star meals 2006, Five-star meals 2007, Architecture and Design 2005
Oh, myspace... the biggest social networking website in the world. With myspace, you can add and talk to friends from all over the world. Feel free to picture comment, message, blog, and post bulletins at your leisure; this is YOUR space.
How do you plan on keeping in touch with people if you don't have a mobile device? Hell-o, this is the 21st century. If you don't have a cell phone, it's hard to believe that you have a social life.
Although having an instant messaging program isn't imperative, it is a convenient thing to have. Whether you can't find it in you to call someone, or you just conveniently spot someone online, it's just useful these days.
When you're bored and in class, or at an assembly and can't seem to quite pay attention, you can go the old fashioned way and write a note to someone. Who knows, something interesting may come out of it.
If you have a question or suggestion about the site, or even simply a comment to pitch, don't hesitate to post it here! We're a very open-minded community always looking for ways to improve.
Although it can be hard to believe, we all need a break from roleplaying sometimes. If you ever need that break, just want to start a discussion with someone, or play an out of character game, simply feel free to post anything out of character in this board.
It's not a surprise that Heathington is full of very artistically talented people. Come here to check out their portfolios, perhaps requesting graphics as you do so. Or if you're a graphic artist, open up your own shop. If you have a specific graphic request, feel free to post a new thread asking for what you need.
Once threads are done and closed, where do they go? To the archives, of course! If you're bored and just wanting to browse through old posts, feel free to do so. Or, if you want to "backtrack your character's past", you may do so here as well!
